Once I was in a village in the valley of Chitraland it was the time of the climax of nature to show its beauty. The streams were flowingon its full and the ground was carpetted with green and flowers bloomed. There was a guest with my relatives who was from Kashghar of eastern Turkistan which is by now under the suzerainty of China. This man was related with trade and had settled in Rawalpindi having a shop in Pakistan. I was sitting with him and it was the time of late afternoon that I thought to get him for outing and a visit to enjoy the scenery. I got him into the narrow valley with a stream flowing with a big sound in between the rocks and the greenery around. There were small canals drawn from the stream which parted from it to water the green fields with crops and vegetables. There were flowers and trees of apricots and Chinar beside water and grass to sit and enjoy. All around were the mountains of Hindukush with dark and high peaks.
We sat there on rocks in green beside the stream and I talked to him about the scene and the charm. He replied he did feel sorry for the water that so much of the water was being wasted. I told him that the water was never wasted and is producing crops, greenery and trees. He said that even then the water was not used by these people. I answered him that there were also run electricity machines and the village was having its own power supply house run with this water. He again said that even then he felt sorrow that the water was not properly utilized and there is no measure to just bring it rightly from its reserves into some channel to fully bring it into use. Then I got his theme and feeling heartly sorry for him said that yes the water could be controlled rightly from the reservoir by making some sheets of plastic like object worn over onto the top of mountains and when there snow and rain falls the whole water could be then directed to some exact channel and then be as a whole brought to a place where he, the shopkeeper could use that according to his desires.
He was a trader and had once said to me that it was obvious that a trader has to lie to the customer. Also it was my fault to get him to enjoy the charm of nature and a nonsense to discuss with.
