Near Peshawar city in the north west of Pakistan there is a defile named Darra Adam Khel. Mainly this valley belongs to Adam Khel Afridi clan of Afghans who are famous for being good gunsmiths. There also do live many a bulk of people who are not related to their family profession and are earning their living from other resources also. However the area is barren and hardly water of daily use is provided.
I had a school mate from that area who was from a rich family and his family earnings was from some type of trading not defined. I on a holiday went with them and was their guest. They did not make any shortcoming in my welcome and I had a good time there. The brothers, uncles and other brethren also did have a gossip with me. As that area has been famous for manufacturing rifles and the people were famous for making and trading guns and ammunition so I asked them to bring rifles for shooting. My friend brought two rifles and we got into theopen to hit targets. We were four in number, one was my friend the other his cousin and another man related to their house. The cousin of my friend put two blocks of earth at a distance on a lift up edge of ground. They were though used to rifles but not familiar with shooting targets or aiming.
First they gave me the rifle and with two shots I hit both the earth blocks and like an exhibition both blew into air as the bullets were special ones that blasted on hitting. They exclaimed with astonishment and the man with them praised my skill in his words according to his mentality;
'Is he a trader of arms'.
Then was their turn. They had not been interested in shooting and were not able to hit the other targets they had chosen. However, orally they were claiming that they are hitting the things where the bullets struck. I could just judge them by handling of the rifle. They on coming back home told their elder that they had also hit the targets but the hadguest shot well.
